  3.     If  you  cannot connect, three things must match on  both  sending  and

  5. receiving  modems/software.  On non-V series modems, set  the  software  to

  7. Autobaud or Autodect = YES/ON. Two is Terminal Emulation (most often ANSI),

  9. some  mainframe BBS use VT100 or some other emulation. The last is  Parity,
  10.  
  11. Stop, and Bits. You will see somewhere in the software a place to set N,8,1
  12.  
  13. or  E,7,1   (could be 8,N,1  or 7,E,1) the two most common  settings.  Most
  14.  
  15. local BBS use N,8,1 and large BBS like Compuserve use E,7,1.
